Gianna's First Dozen Days...

Yeah Gianna!


Today was Gianna's first day with just Mommy and Daddy at home...Gianna did a great job sleeping again last night. It was hard for Daddy to leave for work in the morning, but Mommy and Gianna were sleeping so soundly...and Mommy and Gianna had a great day together. Gianna was hungry from her long night of sleeping, so she ate very often today. We could tell that Gianna missed Grandma and Papa Greco. Daddy came home early from work and shared a nice two hour nap with Gianna on his chest when he got home.

The temps dropped into the 70's in the evening and we went for another nice walk in Gianna's stroller.

Gianna really enjoyed her bath tonight and was so relaxed and warm...




...she was very content afterwards...





...and seemed to really enjoy getting her hair brushed too!





We followed the tip from our friends at Hermannation and uploaded some of our videos of Gianna's first day at home...We found them very cute - hope you do too! :)

Missing you Grandma & Papa...

Grandma Greco was able to change her return flight to Sunday morning and stay another day. It was so great to have Grandma and Papa Greco here to help with Gianna and have two more people to shower her with Love. It was so sad to say good bye - but we will see them soon!

Gianna was "exploring" what it was like to be up from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. this morning, not crying, or fussing, just checking everything out - wide eyed. Gianna is also starting to explore the abilities of her lungs and vocal chords a bit more. She is as sweet as ever, just trying to express herself!

Gianna had her umbilical cord stem fall of today. Mommy and Daddy were excited to give Gianna her first real bath.





We will be "on our own" for the next two weeks - wish us luck! :)

Great Visit with Papa and Grandma Greco

Gianna had a late one last night. She must have realized it was Friday night and she wanted to party! She was up through the wee hours of the morning (with Grandma Greco and Mommy), not crying, just checking everything out and having a good time. Gianna had some pretty good stretches of sleep after that and slept in with everyone else - which was a nice treat for all!






Gianna wore some super cute new outfits today. She really seemed to enjoy this Cherry Red number! It's amazing how much she seems to change every day!















Gianna also wore pants for the first time today. We had to roll up the pant legs and the waist, but she still seemed to enjoy all the butterflies.

Gianna also had her first dining out experience at one of our local favorites - Ted's Montana Grill. Gianna was a perfect little lady and slept through the whole meal in her car seat in the busy restaurant, drawing complements from several of our fellow diners.

Gianna had a great visit with Papa and Grandma Greco! Thanks so much for all your love!

Summertime Fun...

Another Relaxing day on Morning Sun Street...

Papa Greco and John went to Costco to get some food for a delicious cookout and Home Depot for supplies for finishing projects around the house.

Gianna was excited to receive a nice poster from Cousin Aidan!

Gianna had some great "awake time" today.

We finished off the day with a nice walk on a VERY comfortable Summer Evening.

Papa Greco arrives...

Gianna started her second week with us by sleeping six hours at night! (hopefully this will continue!)

Tonight was a beautiful night as the temps dipped into the 70's and the humidity dropped below 50%. We had our first outing in Gianna's stroller - the first of many trips to Target - that she seemed to enjoy.

Team Brunner Bests Bilirubin

After a more competitive than expected effort by their opponent, Team Brunner soundly defeated bilirubin Wednesday morning, as confirmed by Nurse Melissa. Star new-comer Gianna said, "I felt pretty good about our chances in beating bilirubin. We had to come from behind a little Monday afternoon, but I knew with the commitment and dedication of my supporting cast, that Team Brunner would ultimately prevail." Gianna kept her composure throughout the contest, which helped Team Brunner stay focused and perform as a cohesive unit. "I'm just glad to be rid of that damn blanket," said Michelle. When Nurse Melissa officially indicated that team Brunner was indeed the victor, Gianna let loose with a satisfying smile - perhaps her first (though there are uncomfirmed reports from Grandma Greco that Gianna smiled at her mother as early as day 4)? Team Brunner looks to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next opponent (TBD).

Battle of the Bilirubin - Day 2

Another relaxing day on Morning Sun Street...We kept the bilirubin "blanket" (blanket is in quotes because it's hardly a blanket) on Gianna throughout the night and day in preparations for our Pediatrician visit. She was a little glow worm all through the night. The Pediatrician said that her bilirubin levels did drop, but he wanted them to drop a little further. So we continue to help her little body break down those extra red blood cells with the photo therapy light bilirubin blanket. Thankfully she continues to be very tolerant of it. Here's a cute picture showing all her hair from the back.





Here's a cute picture of Gianna in her "go to" position from her last few months in the womb. Notice how her little legs/feet fit together. Michelle can attest that she also liked to stretch her legs out (into her bladder, rib cage, spinal nerves, etc.). Thanks to Michelle's hard work, pain, and persistence - and Gianna being a good eater - Gianna has already returned to her birth weight (in less than a week!:). Grandma Greco made a delicious zucchini casserole to celebrate!
